MALAYSIA'S MITEC HOSTS 11,000 FINANCIAL ELITES AT THE INTERNATIONAL DRAGON AWARDS (IDA) 2024 ANNUAL CONFERENCE, BOOSTING GLOBAL BUSINESS ECONOMY

KUALA LUMPMUR, August 12, 2024 — The Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) is honored to mark another milestone by hosting the groundbreaking The 15th Worldwide Chinese Life Insurance Congress & 2024 IDA Annual Conference which brought together 11,000 global financial insurance elites for a mega convention across 4 days. This momentous event showcased the Centre’s state-of-the-art facilities and its ability to accommodate large-scale gatherings with ease. The convention not only underscored the venue's commitment to excellence but also highlighted its pivotal role in advancing global business interactions and economic development.

Worldwide Chinese Life Insurance Congress (WCLIC) is held in conjunction with the 26th National Chinese Life Insurance Congress, supported by Tourism Malaysia and Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), attracted delegates from more than 250 institutions across 17 countries and regions, including key markets like China, Taiwan, Singapore, The United States, Macao, Canada and other parts of the world. “MYCEB reported that the event generated an estimated economic impact (EEI) of RM 176,500,000.00 for Malaysia”. The event was also supported by MCMC in ensuring seamless mobile connectivity.

The success of WCLIC was driven by the concerted efforts of our passionate professional team at MITEC that included 1,711 casual labour, whose collaborative work showcased our venue’s impressive capacity and operational capability.

MITEC showcased the culture and taste of Malaysia by converting its huge loading dock into a lively Durian Fiesta Bazaar, catering to the fondness for this distinctive fruit. These initiatives not only celebrated Malaysia’s vibrant culture but also underscored our dedication to supporting local enterprises and enriching the delegate experience.
